Changes
in the station network include the following: (1) In Arizona, new
stations on Alchesay Spring near Wbi teriver, Cave Creek neal,' Cave Creek,
and Cibecue 1. and? near Show Low; the latter two are for ~'esearch in
land use. The repqrt on the recent prolonged drought in the Southwest has been
transmitted for editorial review and publication.

Interpretive and hydrologic studies were continued on diverse topics,
including the following which have not been reported previously: (1)
"Arizona's water," a sUlll!llary report on water conditions over the State, is
in final draft; this is one of several pilot reports in a contemplated
new series of publications.
