.
0449

The Colorado Canal diverted Twin Lakes Reservoir, Lake Meredith exchange
and purchased waters for 117 days during the 1974 crop season. The first
run of Twin Lakes Reservoir water began April 29th and the last run was
terminated on September lOth.

In addition to the diversions shown in the table, the Colorado Canal
diverted 2,185 acre feet (net at Boone) to Lake Henry Reservoir for
Foxley & Co. This diversion followed the termination of the run on
September lOth.

In the past 11 years extensive work has been done on the Colorado Canal
to curb the phreatophyte growth on the banks. We now have most all of the
larger trees and willows removed. However, to keep the shoots and seed-
lings under control will require considerable maintenanoe. The Bantam
dragline has given 12 or 13 years of servioe and the Northwest dragline
is old and slow. I have recommended that the Board of Directors of The
Colorado Canal Company purohase another exoavating' maohine mounted on a
truok.

Storage as of January 1, 1975:

Twin Lakes Reservoir
Lake Meredith Reservoir
Lake Henry Reservoir

1$,394 a. f.
-0-
1,173 as.

Preoipitationmeasured at Ordway during 1974 was as follows (inches by
month):

January 0;23
February 0.53
March 0.96
April 1.13
May 1;05
June 1.23
July 2.25
August 0.B9
September 0.26
Ootober .0.95
November 0.58
Deoember 0.45
Total 10.51 Inches

The 40 year average annUli-I precipitation at Ordway is 11..53 inohes.

I urge all stockholders of The Twin Lakes Reservoir and Canal Company,
The Colorano Canal Company and The Lake Meredith Reservoir Company -eo
attend their annual meetings in Ordway, Colorado,. on January 27, 1975.

Respectfully submitted,

Thonias W.
