A propriations, Fiscal 1951 for Federal Pro:ects in Colorado. <br />The Annual Appropriation Bill for the period July 1, 19 0 to June 30, 1951, <br />approved by the House of Representatives and nOTI pending in the Senate, con- <br />tains the following appropriations for Federal water projects located in <br />Colorado: <br /> <br />Colorado-Big Thompson Project <br />San Luis Valley Project <br />Paonia Project <br />Narrows Reservoir on the South Platte <br /> <br />Total <br /> <br />:,1 2:0, 77~,000 <br />1,839,000 <br />1,057,000 <br />810,600 <br /> <br />$ 24,478,600 <br /> <br />In addition to the above appropriations for fiscal 1951 for Colo- <br />rado projects, there is every reasonable assurance that ~630,000 vJill be <br />appropriated by a deficiency bill now pending on Congress for the San Luis <br />Valley Project to carryon construction "fork on the ?latora Dam (San Luis <br />Valley Project) for fiscal 1950. Also, there has been made available, <br />through allocation by the Bureau of ]eclamation, )700,000 for rehabilitation <br />and betterment vrork on the Grand Valley Project near Grand Junction. It is <br />planned that an additional )390,000 'crill be allocated by the Bureau for further <br />rehabilitation and betterment nork on the Grand Valley project during the next <br />fiscal year. <br /> <br />This makes a grand total of appropriations which has been approved, <br />or which are expected to be approved, by the present session of Congress for <br />Federal water development in Colorado of ~25,808,600. <br /> <br />If the "Tabor-Thomas" amendment, adopted by the House, should prevail <br />in the Senate and/or be confirmed by adoption of a conference report, then <br />this amount will be reduced to 023,360,740. <br />
