-12-

.There are pending, as authorized by the Water Board at its last
meeting, conferences between the Army Engineers, the Bureau of Reclamation
and the Director and Consulting Engineer of the Colorado Water Conservation
Board for the purpose of considering changes in plans for Chatfield Reser-
voir so as to provide possible conservation capacity in connection with the
proposed Blue-South Platte transmountain diversion project.

The estimated cost of the South Platte Flood Control Project is
$26,300,000.

14. Pueblo Flood Control Froject. The Omnibus Rivers and Harbors
and Flood Control Authorization bill, passed by the present Congress, in-
cludes the authorization 01' supplemental works in connection with the Flood
control works constructed at Pueblo several years ago. The estimated cost
of these works is .';209,000. The commencement of work will have to await the
appropriation of money for the purpose by the next Congress.

15. Platoro Project. The construction of Platoro Reservoir, one of
the units of the San Luis Valley project, was commenced last year. The con-
tractor made such rapid progress that funds available for construction of
this project during the present fiscal year '~re not sufficient. Accordingly,
an effort was made to secure the appropriation of J630,000 in the first
deficiency bill considered by the Congress. This item was included in the
second deficiency bill and there is every indication that it will be approved
by both the House and the Senate very soon. .

The Conejos Water Conservancy District has been formed and executed
a repayment contract with the Government. At the present time steps are
being taken to negotiate individual contracts between the irrigation water
users and the conservancy district.

16. Colorado Water Resources Report. The staff of the Colorado Water
Conservation Boand is presently engaged in the preparation of Golorado 11ater
Resources Report for the Colorado Resources Development Council, Inc. It
is hoped that this report will be completed.in July. The cost of printing
the report will be borne by the Colorado Development Council except that the
Colorado ~'ater Conservation Board and the Bureau of Reclarnation are 'providing
certain maps and graphs 'which will be included.

17. The Colorado ',.ater Gonservation Board Library. At the last meet-
ing of the Colorado ~',ater Conservation Board approval was given for entering
into a contract with Lrs. Dorothy Senesh, a trained librarian, to catalog and
classify the Library, which has been accumulating during the past thirteen
years. This work has been completed at a cost of J970.00. There is being
prepared in the Director's office a list of materials in this library which

c.... .
~' ,

Ill... "
(;.-.J".t
