the Platte River Water Management Study. Public Law 95-482, Continuing

Appropriations for 1979, appropriated funds for the WPRS programs, projects,

and activities. Platte River study funds appropriated to WPRS for 1979 total

$420,000.

USDI has requested WPRS to participate in the platte River Study and also

to fund the participation of USGS. Because of the importance of understanding

river and aquifer hydrology before developing any management alternatives, it

,
..

is imperative that the USGS and WPRS studies be closely coordinated with the

v

FWS efforts.

The funds required for the WPRS and USGS portion of the study total

$1,477,000. Funds for the FWS effort are $825,000.
