Both the 1929 and 1948 rights were in priority since the Colorado River was
running well in excess of 1,250 cfs and it was expected that Green Mountain ReserVoir
would fill. A letter from the USBR confirming that there was adequate water to fill Green
Mountain Reservoir was received by our office on May 12, 2000. It was understood
that power interference at Green Mountain Reservoir was to be replaced under
arrangements similar to those in past years and that diversions would be terminated if
necessary to assure the filling of Green Mountain Reservoir.

Colorado Springs Utilities continued to divert water under the 1929 Blue River Water
Rights through August 2, 2000, Numerous calls were placed on the Colorado River
throughout the 2000 water year.

During the 1999-2000 diversion period, 2,129 acre-feet was temporarily stored in the
Upper Blue Reservoir. As of September 30, 2000, the Upper Blue Reservoir was
empty. A total of 9,887 acre-feet of 1948 water were transferred through the Hoosier
Tunnel during the 2000 water year.

. . ;~

- _ -.;",~~ _.1:. ,- '~_-_'O:_"'<' - .
