Colorado Springs/Super Ditch Pilot Project - State Engineer's Determination
December 6, 2019
consumptive use water annually in each of the three years. A total of 1,573 shares and 1,433 acres are
included in the Pilot Project approval. The Applicants have noted that this number of shares and
acreage results in more consumptive use water than the goal of 1,000 acre-feet and that a lesser
amount and shares will be fallowed pursuant to the pilot project in each of the three fallow years.
The farms and shares listed in Table A, which is excerpted from the Applicants revised HCU dated
November 25 and received November 27, are included in the Pilot Project. Figure 1 shows the
locations of the farms.
Legal Description of
Irrigated
Historical
Pilot Project
Ninfitle, Of
Total
Shares
Participant
participating
Historically Irrigated
Acreage
Irrigated
Historical
Participant
DPW
Numberof
per
Associated
Farmer
Lands
(2015)
Acreage'
Irrigated
Shares
Shares
shares
Acre'
Share
Acres'
ce rtlficates
Portions of Sections 20,
28,29, 30, 31,32, and
16,18,21,
Diamond A
33, 722S, R57W of the
1100.9
1097,71
874.15
1,087.010
278.000
1,365,010
1-244
22,34 60,
ton RM., Otero County,
3712
Colorado
Portions of the E1/2 and
NW1/4 of Section 5,
91,3493,
Schweizer
T235, R571v of the Ste
196.9
174.7
174-71
195,476
0.000
6
195,47119
1
3498,3703
RM _ Otero County,
cororado
Portions of Section 11,
Mameda
T23S, R57W of the nth
157,6
157,08
157-08
000 99,
0.000
WOO()
0-630
42,43
P.M., Otero County,
Cotorado
Portions of the SEI/4 of
Section 5, portions of the
NWI/4 of Section 3, and
Groves
portions of Section 4,
262.4
217.41
194-95
156240
18,000k
174.240
0,801
2,3,4,5
TEAS, R56W of the 6th
RK, Otero ODUntY,
(1010rado
Portions of the NWO 1/4 f
Mayhriffer
Section 18, T24S, R55W
35:2
3161
31,61
35,000
0.000
35-000
1107
3663
of the nth P.M_ Otero
County, Colorado
I
I
I
I
Total
1753,0
1675.52
1,432,5
1,572.726
296,000
186&726
1.098
'Average for relevant study period, The CPW snares were included in the historical consumptive use analysis per docussion at the November 6, 2019
CS-ti/SuperDltch Pilot Project Conference- The CPW shares are factored out of the results by proportionately reducing the Pilot Project Historical
Irrigated Acres to that irrigated only by the participant shares.
*Groves leased 30 CPW shares for 18 years of the 30-year study period- The average of 18 shares per year is used for the purposes of this table-
