POT CREEK MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br />April 1, 1958 <br />Signatory States: Colorado and Utah <br />Major Purpose: <br />Develop a workable and equitable division of the waters of Pot Creek between the <br />signatory states. <br />Important Provisions: <br />1. Both states agree that a Compact is necessary, but that prior to its formulation, a <br />workable system must be developed. <br />2. The states agree to the appointment of a water commissioner with authority to <br />administer in both states with Colorado bearing 20% of his expenses. <br />3. Establishes a schedule of priorities for use in both states and defines a period before <br />which direct flow diversions cannot be exercised, namely May 1 of each year. <br />
