CHANNEL NO 2 (INCLUDES FLOW FROM CHANNEL NO 1) <br /> <br />LOCATION.--Lat 40°58'37", long 102°14'52", in NE¼SE¼ sec. 33, T.12 N., R.44 W., Sedgwick County, on right <br />bank of channel No 2 (right channel) 5 ft downstream from bridge on U.S. Highway 385, 0.9 mi <br />southeast of Julesburg, 3.0 mi upstream from Colorado-Nebraska State line, and 8 mi downstream from <br />Lodgepole Creek. <br /> <br />DRAINAGE AREA.--23,193 mi². <br /> <br />GAGE.--Water-stage graphic recorder (manometer) with satellite telemetry. Datum of gage is 3,448.51 ft. <br />above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. A wire weight gage is used on the bridge. A new <br />gage utilizing a manometer was installed in 1988, located on U. S. Highway 385 bridge. <br /> <br />REMARKS.--Gage-height record is complete and reliable except for the following periods: Dec. 22-25, 1993; <br />Feb. 6-8; Mar. 25-27; Apr. 1-3; May 8-10; Sep. 21, 1994 when gage-heights were not representative of <br />average for day due to manometer erratic response. Feb. 9-28; Mar. 1-8 when orifice was plugged. <br />The stage-discharge relationship was affected by ice on the following days: Nov. 24-26; Dec. 20-21, <br />1993; Jan. 27-31; Feb. 1-5, 1994. Chart gage-heights were used for the following periods: Oct. 6- <br />15; Nov. 10, 27-29; Dec. 20, 1993; Jan. 8, 23-27; Apr. 12-14; Jul. 20-22, 29-31; Aug. 23-29; Sep. 1- <br />8, 13, 1994. Record is fair except for period of no gage-height record and ice-affected record <br />which is poor. This record is part of combined flow with channel Nos. 3 and 4.
