<br /> <br /> <br /> 17 <br /> <br /> PLATTE RIVER BASIN <br /> <br /> 06724000 ST VRAIN CREEK AT LYONS, CO <br /> <br />LOCATION.--Lat 40°13'05", long 105°15'34", in NW¼NW¼ sec.20, T.3 N,, R.70 W., Boulder County, Hydrologic Unit 10190005, on <br />left bank 75 ft southwest of U.S. Highway 36 (State Highways 7 and 66) at southeast edge of Lyons, 400 ft <br />upstream from St, Vrain Supply Canal, and 0.4 mi downstream from confluence of North and South St. Vrain Creeks. <br /> <br />DRAINAGE AREA.--212 mi2. <br /> <br />GAGE.--Water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry, Elevation of gage is 5,292 ft above National Geodetic Vertical <br />Datum of 1929, from topographic map. Prior to Apr. 6, 1923, nonrecording gages near present site at different <br />datums. Apr. 6, 1923, to Sept. 30, 1956, water-stage recorder at same site at datum 1.00 ft, higher. Levels were <br />run to inside gage on May 20, 1991 using BM No. 2 as base. The gage was found to be reading correct. <br /> <br />REMARKS.--Record is complete and reliable except for partial loss of record on June 1-2, 1991, when gear chain on shaft <br />encoder and recorder fouled up, and December 20-27, 1990 when ice affected. These periods rated as fair.
