06725500 MIDDLE BOULDER CREEK AT NEDERLAND, CO

LOCATION.--Lat 39°57'42", long 105°30'14", in NE¼SE¼ sec. 13, T.l S., R.73 W., Boulder County, Hydrologic
Unit 10190005, on left bank at Nederland just downstream from North Beaver Creek at inlet to Barker
Reservoir.

DRAINAGE AREA.--36.2 mi².

GAGE.--Water-stage recorder and data collection platform in wooden shelter with concrete well at a compound
sharp-crested weir. DCP is the primary record with chart recorder as backup. The DCP was upgraded
to a High Data Rate (HDR) during the 2002 Water Year. A new continuous graphic stage recorder was
installed in June of 2003 and the weekly recorder was removed.

REMARKS.--Record is complete and reliable, except for the following periods, which are considered poor when
the stage-discharge relation was affected by ice catching on the weir and inlets freezing: November
23-25; December 9-17, 27-29, 2003; January 26-29, February 3-6, 8-13, 2004. Control work was done
intermittently between March 10 and March 22, 2004. Gage Height was affected during times when
backhoe work was being done in the channel. Record was estimated for the following days: March 10-
11, 16-17, 2004. Gage heights are occasionally affected by tree limbs caught on the weir. Any
debris or ice on the control would normally be cleared weekly the City of Boulder operator, so any
datum corrections are only applied for short periods. Station maintained by City of Boulder and
record developed by Lee Cunning.
