PEACEFUL VALLEY, CO <br /> <br />LOCATION.--Lat 40 07’ 55”, long 105 31’ 00”, NE1/4 NW1/4 Sec. 24, T.2 N., R.73 W. <br /> <br />PERIOD OF RECORD AND DRAINAGE AREA.--Gage established on May 14, 1998 by State of Colorado, Division of <br />Water Resources personnel. This gage will be a partial year record station. <br /> <br />GAGE.--Graphic water-stage recorder and satellite monitoring DCP with shaft encoder in 48” diameter metal <br />pipe shelter and well. DCP is the primary record with chart as a backup. <br /> <br />REMARKS.--The primary record is hourly data taken from satellite monitoring with chart back up. The record <br />is complete and reliable except for May 26—June 1 when the GH recorded false peaks as rocks rolled <br />in front of the inlets. These days were handled as follows: May 26: “a” day; many hours of false <br />peaks, graphically estimated by connecting lower values May 27, 28, 29, 31: 4 or less hours bad and <br />estimated; corrected record used. May 30, June 1; “a” days; many hours of false peaks, graphically <br />estimated by connecting lower values. The record is good, except as follows: Flows above 130 cfs <br />are fair due to lack of rating measurements. Flows above 200 cfs are poor due to lack of rating <br />measurements . The peak is not determined since the rating would compute it at 524 cfs which is too <br />far above the limits of the rating to have any accuracy.
