VRAIN CREEK AT MOUTH, NEAR PLATTEVILLE, CO <br /> <br />LOCATION.--Lat 40°15'29", long 104°52'45", in SE¼NW¼ sec. 3, T,3 N., R.67 W., Weld County, Hydrologic Unit <br />10190005, on right bank 140 ft downstream from bridge on county road, 1.3 mi upstream from mouth, <br />and 4.2 mi northwest of Platteville. <br /> <br />DRAINAGE AREA AND PERIOD OF RECORD.--976 mi²; 1927 to present. <br /> <br />GAGE.--Graphic water-stage recorder and satellite monitoring DCP in a 54 inch metal pipe shelter and well. <br />A Sutron Accububbler was installed May 8, 2002 as a back up. Data collection platform is the <br />primary record with graphic chart as backup. The primary reference for the Accububbler is the <br />outside staff, which was installed in April at a datum 1.0 ft. lower so that lower stages could be <br />recorded. <br /> <br />REMARKS.--The primary record is hourly satellite data from the stilling well for October 1 to March 31 <br />(1900). From March 31 (2000) to September 30 the record is hourly satellite data from the bubblers. <br />Daily maximum and minimum stages for the satellite record checked to within ± 0.02 with the chart <br />except during periods in which the well was isolated. The record is Fair from October through March <br />due to infrequent visits and measurements. From April through September the record is also Fair due <br />to Bubbler gage operation in the low flow conditions seen this year. Station maintained and record <br />developed by M.
