9

LOCATION.--Lat 39°29'18", long 105°05'32", in NE¼ sec. 34, T.6 S., R.69 W., Jefferson County, Hydrologic
Unit 10190002, on left bank 168 ft downstream from bridge on State Highway 221, 0.4 mi south of
Waterton, 4.7 mi west of Louviers, and 6 mi upstream from Plum Creek.

DRAINAGE AREA AND PERIOD OF RECORD.--2,621 mi²; 1926 to present.

GAGE.--Graphic water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry. Datum of gage 5,484.43 ft National Geodetic
Vertical Datum.

REMARKS.--The primary record is hourly data taken from satellite monitoring with chart back-up. The record
is complete and reliable except for December 11 through March 2 when ice was assumed to have
accumulated on the control and in the well. The record is normally fairly flat in the winter due to
control from Strontia Springs Reservoir, except for ice effects. However it is sometimes difficult
to distinguish on the chart between ice effect and small levels of diurnal flow due to ice melting
in the canyon. Discharge amounts for the ice-affected period of December 11 through March 2 was
used from the estimated records kept by the Denver Water Department. The record is rated good
except for the days estimated as ice periods— December 11 through March 2, which are rated as poor.
Station was maintained by R.E.Cooper and record was developed by M.L.Cunning.

RATING TABLE.--PLAWATCO08 USED FROM 01-OCT-2000 TO 30-SEP-2001

DISCHARGE, IN CFS, WATER YEAR OCTOBER 2000 TO SEPTEMBER 2001
MEAN VALUES

DAY OCT NOV DEC JAN FEB MAR APR MAY JUN JUL AUG SEP

1 33 32 35 34 34 34 35 38 72 179 126 62
2 32 32 35 34 34 34 33 52 67 158 75 62
3 31 31 34 34 34 35 34 37 78 139 69 62
4 35 31 33 34 34 35 37 43 74 185 69 63
5 34 32 34 34 34 37 31 58 70 170 68 62
6 34 41 35 34 34 40 33 47 72 166 69 62
7 33 38 34 34 34 37 40 47 72 167 67 64
8 33 38 34 34 34 47 37 48 73 164 65 67
9 32 36 34 34 34 36 39 46 114 171 78 64
10 32 36 35 34 34 45 35 44 219 177 69 65
11 32 36 34 34 34 41 56 44 267 176 67 62
12 33 36 34 34 34 36 39 34 231 128 67 62
13 33 36 34 34 34 40 39 37 130 93 67 63
14 33 35 34 34 34 37 36 37 129 197 65 65
15 33 36 34 34 34 34 36 52 178 208 101 66
16 33 35 34 34 34 31 36 68 175 227 156 52
17 34 35 34 34 34 31 35 66 168 144 154 35
18 35 35 34 34 34 31 32 66 138 66 116 33
19 32 35 34 34 34 30 35 68 73 72 71 32
20 34 35 34 34 34 31 36 66 77 63 63 31
21 34 36 34 34 34 40 43 70 94 67 71 35
22 35 41 34 34 35 34 41 66 101 116 65 37
23 35 37 34 34 36 33 30 64 66 161 63 32
24 33 32 34 34 34 34 34 69 65 284 74 34
25 32 33 34 34 34 35 36 72 162 251 69 32
26 31 35 34 34 34 36 35 70 348 320 65 32
27 31 37 34 34 34 33 34 73 289 268 65 36
28 31 32 34 34 34 33 35 75 176 159 65 34
29 31 33 34 34 --- 40 35 199 91 155 65 33
30 30 35 34 34 --- 34 38 183 247 148 72 33
31 31 --- 34 34 --- 36 --- 140 --- 147 66 ---

TOTAL 1015 1052 1057 1054 955 1110 1095 2079 4116 5126 2422 1472
MEAN 33 35 34 34 34 36 37 67 137 165 78 49
AC-FT 2010 2090 2100 2090 1890 2200 2170 4120 8160 10170 4800 2920
MAX 35 41 35 34 36 47 56 199 348 320 156 67
MIN 30 31 33 34 34 30 30 34 65 63 63 31

CAL YR 2000 TOTAL 0 MEAN 0 MAX 0 MIN 0 AC-FT 0
WTR YR 2001 TOTAL 22553 MEAN 61.8 MAX 348 MIN 30 AC-FT 44730

MAX DISCH: 502 CFS AT 20:00 ON Jun. 26, 2001 GH 1.75 FT.
