9
PLATTE RIVER BASIN

06699005 TARRYALL CREEK AT BORDEN DITCH NEAR JEFFERSON, CO

LOCATION.--Lat. 39°17’13”, Long. 105°41’43”, in the NW ¼ of the NW ¼ of Sec. 8, T. 9 S., R. 74 W., Park County,
Hydrologic unit 10190001, on left bank 1800 ft. downstream from Rock Creek, 9 mi. southeast of Jefferson
and 1.0 mi. northwest of Bordenville.

DRAINAGE AREA AND PERIOD OF RECORD.--230 mi². Apr. 26, 1983 (no previous gage at this site). Operation
discontinued by USGS 9-30-97. Taken over by Colorado Division of Water Resources.

GAGE.--Shaft encoder and satellite monitoring DCP in a in a metal shelter on an 18-inch metal well. Well is
connected to stream by one 2-in. intake. Altitude of gage is 9020 ft, from USGS topographic map.
Station is maintained by the City of Aurora.

REMARKS.--Record is taken from hourly satellite readings and is complete and reliable, except for the following
periods: October 10-11, 2005, appeared to have ice in the stream; October 12, 2005 - April 11, 2006, when
the station was closed for winter; April 12, 2006 partial (start-up) day; April 13-20, 2006 showed
unusual gage height variations which could have been caused by ice in the stilling well; June 12-13,
2006, due to DCP failure; and, June 14, 2006 - July 18, 2006, when a single abnormally low gage height
value was recorded each day, which were considered to be erroneous and replaced with values obtained by
interpolation from adjacent good record, without loss in accuracy. The record is good for the entire
period of operation, except for October 10-11, 2005; April 12, and June 12-13, 2006 which are poor; and
April 13-20, 2006, which is fair. Station operated by Garver Brown and record developed by Garver Brown
and Russell Stroud.

RATING TABLE.--TARBORCO06 USED FROM 01-OCT-2005 TO 30-SEP-2006

DISCHARGE, IN CFS, WATER YEAR OCTOBER 2005 TO SEPTEMBER 2006
MEAN VALUES

DAY OCT NOV DEC JAN FEB MAR APR MAY JUN JUL AUG SEP

1 17 --- --- --- --- --- --- 32 148 77 85 36
2 16 --- --- --- --- --- --- 32 147 79 63 35
3 16 --- --- --- --- --- --- 34 146 84 54 32
4 16 --- --- --- --- --- --- 37 146 78 67 31
5 16 --- --- --- --- --- --- 38 144 89 58 29
6 16 --- --- --- --- --- --- 41 146 108 73 28
7 16 --- --- --- --- --- --- 42 154 89 67 29
8 16 --- --- --- --- --- --- 37 163 133 60 30
9 16 --- --- --- --- --- --- 40 163 195 51 44
10 16 --- --- --- --- --- --- 44 148 235 51 34
11 16 --- --- --- --- --- --- 40 126 132 49 29
12 --- --- --- --- --- --- 38 40 116 100 52 27
13 --- --- --- --- --- --- 41 51 120 84 69 24
14 --- --- --- --- --- --- 46 61 119 71 58 23
15 --- --- --- --- --- --- 46 69 116 64 56 23
16 --- --- --- --- --- --- 36 75 116 57 58 23
17 --- --- --- --- --- --- 39 85 109 56 47 22
18 --- --- --- --- --- --- 39 96 99 62 48 22
19 --- --- --- --- --- --- 30 110 113 62 69 23
20 --- --- --- --- --- --- 26 124 106 67 66 24
21 --- --- --- --- --- --- 28 139 101 86 57 29
22 --- --- --- --- --- --- 31 160 100 65 53 32
23 --- --- --- --- --- --- 35 175 94 55 49 36
24 --- --- --- --- --- --- 42 156 90 53 44 33
25 --- --- --- --- --- --- 40 152 89 68 44 31
26 --- --- --- --- --- --- 36 155 112 111 56 30
27 --- --- --- --- --- --- 36 159 91 80 61 28
28 --- --- --- --- --- --- 42 154 83 65 49 27
29 --- --- --- --- --- --- 40 150 81 55 43 26
30 --- --- --- --- --- --- 31 141 78 50 40 25
31 --- --- --- --- --- --- --- 138 --- 49 38 ---

TOTAL 177 --- --- --- --- --- 702 2807 3564 2659 1735 865
MEAN 16.1 --- --- --- --- --- 36.9 90.5 119 85.8 56.0 28.8
AC-FT 351 --- --- --- --- --- 1390 5570 7070 5270 3440 1720
MAX 17 --- --- --- --- --- 46 175 163 235 85 44
MIN 16 --- --- --- --- --- 26 32 78 49 38 22

CAL YR 2005 TOTAL 8855 MEAN 50.3 MAX 150 MIN 16 AC-FT 17560 (PARTIAL YEAR RECORD)
WTR YR 2006 TOTAL 12509 MEAN 68.4 MAX 235 MIN 16 AC-FT 24810 (PARTIAL YEAR RECORD)

MAX DISCH: 264 CFS AT 07:00 ON Jul. 10, 2006 GH 3.95 FT.
