47
PLATTE RIVER BASIN

06729450 SOUTH BOULDER CREEK BELOW GROSS RESERVOIR NEAR COAL CREEK, CO

LOCATION.--Lat 39°56'19", long 105°20'55", SW¼ sec. 21, T.1 S., R.71 W., Boulder County. Measures releases from
Gross Reservoir; which is filled by South Boulder Creek and transmountain diversions from Moffat Tunnel.

DRAINAGE AREA.--N/A

GAGE.--Graphic water stage recorder and satellite monitoring DCP with shaft encoder in timber shelter and concrete
well at 25' Parshall flume with supplemental outside staff. The primary reference is an electric tape gage.
The DCP, updated to high data rate in 2002, is the primary record with chart backup. Station is owned
and maintained by Denver Water Board personnel.

REMARKS.--Primary record is hourly DCP data with chart back up. The record is complete and reliable with exception
of July 26-September 6 due to shelter construction. Chart record was used to fill in missing DCP data for
periods in April and September. GH data were provided by Denver Water for the July 26-September 6 period due
to no primary or secondary record. Data entry was checked against Denver Water spreadsheets and found to be
accurate. Reservoir operators recorded GH’s before and after every gate change (usually around 8 am), and
then kept the release constant. The record is rated good. except for the period: July 26-September 6 which is
rated fair due to removal of the gage shelter and equipment while renovations took place. Station maintained
by Lee Cunning and record developed by Div. 1 Hydrographic Staff.

RATING TABLE.--STD25FTPF USED FROM 01-OCT-2004 TO 30-SEP-2005

DISCHARGE, IN CFS, WATER YEAR OCTOBER 2004 TO SEPTEMBER 2005
MEAN VALUES

DAY OCT NOV DEC JAN FEB MAR APR MAY JUN JUL AUG SEP

1 25 96 151 10 43 114 115 15 535 403 226 27
2 25 96 151 10 13 114 115 15 493 434 226 23
3 25 96 151 10 61 115 115 16 433 462 226 41
4 28 99 151 10 105 115 115 16 406 442 232 13
5 30 101 151 10 115 115 127 16 406 355 186 13
6 36 101 151 10 115 115 135 15 376 301 157 56
7 51 101 167 10 115 115 135 15 333 301 159 185
8 60 98 176 10 115 115 135 15 317 371 159 264
9 60 96 176 10 115 115 135 15 315 415 159 293
10 60 97 176 10 115 115 135 28 291 327 152 329
11 85 97 176 10 115 115 135 41 276 231 148 338
12 106 101 177 10 114 115 135 53 276 260 151 337
13 106 104 177 10 114 115 66 60 288 334 153 336
14 106 104 177 10 114 115 17 60 280 366 153 335
15 106 104 175 10 114 115 13 60 271 366 153 334
16 106 76 175 10 115 115 7.7 79 289 321 153 335
17 106 22 175 10 115 115 5.6 115 301 259 153 336
18 106 20 175 58 115 115 13 130 350 240 146 335
19 106 67 175 87 115 115 23 132 348 240 137 163
20 106 93 175 87 115 115 25 147 363 239 134 7.5
21 106 93 79 87 115 115 30 231 405 237 134 7.2
22 106 93 10 87 115 115 36 365 425 237 134 6.7
23 106 93 11 86 115 115 35 422 431 234 134 6.1
24 106 93 11 86 115 115 35 450 431 233 134 6.1
25 106 93 11 43 115 115 36 486 468 234 132 6.1
26 100 93 10 11 115 115 36 512 472 237 130 6
27 96 93 10 61 115 115 36 524 438 236 130 5.9
28 96 130 10 89 114 115 23 508 428 229 130 6.5
29 95 153 10 89 --- 115 15 493 430 226 130 8.3
30 96 151 10 89 --- 115 15 474 420 226 176 57
31 96 --- 10 90 --- 115 --- 516 --- 226 118 ---

TOTAL 2548 2854 3540 1220 2977 3563 1999.3 6024 11295 9222 4845 4216.4
MEAN 82 95 114 39 106 115 66.6 194 377 297 156 141
AC-FT 5050 5660 7020 2420 5900 7070 3970 11950 22400 18290 9610 8360
MAX 106 153 177 90 115 115 135 524 535 462 232 338
MIN 25 20 10 10 13 114 5.6 15 271 226 118 5.9

WTR YR 2005 TOTAL 54303.7 MEAN 149 MAX 535 MIN 5.6 AC-FT 107700

MAX DISCH: 558 CFS AT 14:00 ON May. 31, 2005 GH 3.03 FT.
