43
PLATTE RIVER BASIN

06725500 MIDDLE BOULDER CREEK AT NEDERLAND, CO

LOCATION.--Lat 39°57'42", long 105°30'14", in NE¼SE¼ sec. 13, T.l S., R.73 W., Boulder County, Hydrologic Unit
10190005, on left bank at Nederland just downstream from North Beaver Creek at inlet to Barker Reservoir.

DRAINAGE AREA.--36.2 mi².

GAGE.--Water-stage recorder and data collection platform in wooden shelter with concrete well at a compound
sharp-crested weir. DCP is the primary record with chart recorder as backup. The DCP was upgraded to a
High Data Rate (HDR) during the 2002 Water Year. A new continuous graphic stage recorder was installed in
June of 2003 and the weekly recorder was removed.

REMARKS.--Record is complete and reliable and good, except for the following periods, which are considered poor
when the stage-discharge relation was affected by ice on the weir and inlets freezing: November 30,
December 1-4, 6-8, and 22-25, 2004; January 3-8, 13-16, 31, February 1, 2, 9-11, 16-18, March 14-16,
2005. Given the indeterminate ice conditions, all other days during the period from November 30 to March
15 should be considered fair due to possible ice. In the summer, tree limbs caught on the weir
occasionally affect gage heights. Any debris or ice on the control would normally be cleared weekly the
City of Boulder operator, so any datum corrections for debris are only normally applied for short
periods. Station maintained by City of Boulder and record developed by Lee Cunning.

RATING TABLE.--BOCMIDCO07 USED FROM 01-OCT-2004 TO 30-SEP-2005

DISCHARGE, IN CFS, WATER YEAR OCTOBER 2004 TO SEPTEMBER 2005
MEAN VALUES

DAY OCT NOV DEC JAN FEB MAR APR MAY JUN JUL AUG SEP

1 38 25 4 8 7 6.8 8.6 35 211 217 59 24
2 36 21 5 8 7 6.4 8.9 34 238 207 64 22
3 37 26 13 7.5 7.9 6.4 10 35 239 195 71 21
4 38 25 13 6 7.3 6.5 11 36 209 184 90 20
5 37 24 12 4 7.2 6.3 11 41 184 171 89 19
6 42 27 11 5 7 6.4 12 47 175 157 71 19
7 40 27 11 7 7.4 6.7 15 49 185 159 61 19
8 37 27 11 7 7 6.4 20 45 178 162 56 18
9 36 27 11 7.5 7 6.7 18 45 181 154 54 24
10 35 27 11 7.5 7 6.7 17 58 192 150 57 24
11 35 27 12 7.4 7 6.8 18 106 162 150 67 19
12 34 27 12 7.3 6.9 7.1 17 86 168 145 60 17
13 39 25 11 7 6.7 6.8 20 77 143 146 54 16
14 35 25 11 6 6.9 7 27 77 136 148 56 18
15 35 22 10 6 6.7 7 30 90 182 131 50 18
16 33 25 10 6 7 7 30 107 232 123 46 15
17 33 24 9.8 7.3 7 6.7 39 122 276 120 45 13
18 31 23 9.4 7.1 7 6.8 46 123 314 121 41 12
19 31 22 9.3 7.2 6.8 6.7 50 173 354 108 35 12
20 30 20 9.2 7.3 6.7 6.7 49 253 333 99 34 11
21 30 19 8.8 7.2 6.7 6.7 45 328 320 96 35 11
22 29 21 8 7.1 6.6 7.1 42 361 343 94 35 23
23 25 21 7 7.2 6.6 7.1 46 398 349 94 32 16
24 29 17 8 7.1 6.5 6.7 51 374 350 100 30 14
25 28 20 9 7.2 6.4 6.9 47 349 339 102 30 12
26 28 19 8.7 7.2 6.5 6.7 41 313 316 93 33 11
27 28 19 8.3 7.1 6.5 6.9 40 283 281 78 29 11
28 28 20 8.3 7.1 6.4 8.7 45 259 242 72 28 39
29 25 16 8.3 7 --- 8.8 94 235 249 64 27 28
30 25 6 8.2 7.2 --- 8.9 38 239 225 61 26 22
31 26 --- 8.2 7 --- 8.2 --- 231 --- 59 25 ---

TOTAL 1013 674 296.5 214.5 192.7 216.6 946.5 5009 7306 3960 1490 548
MEAN 33 22.5 9.6 6.9 6.9 7 31.6 162 244 128 48 18
AC-FT 2010 1340 588 425 382 430 1880 9940 14490 7850 2960 1090
MAX 42 27 13 8 7.9 8.9 94 398 354 217 90 39
MIN 25 6 4 4 6.4 6.3 8.6 34 136 59 25 11

WTR YR 2005 TOTAL 21866.8 MEAN 59.9 MAX 398 MIN 4 AC-FT 43370

MAX DISCH: 452 CFS AT 20:30 ON May. 22, 2005 GH 3.12 FT.
