13 <br />PLATTE RIVER BASIN <br /> <br />06701500 SOUTH PLATTE RIVER BELOW CHEESMAN LAKE, CO <br /> <br />LOCATION.--Lat 39°12'33", long 105°16'02", in SE¼NW¼ sec.6, T.10 S., R.70 W., Jefferson County, Hydrologic Unit <br />10190002, on left bank 1,400 ft downstream from toe of Cheesman Dam and 3.8 mi southwest of Deckers. <br /> <br />DRAINAGE AREA AND PERIOD OF RECORD.--1,752 mi². Oct.1, 1924-May 13, 1956 at site 370 feet upstream and 0.50 ft. <br />higher. May 14, 1956 to present at current site. Unreliable record from 1909 to 1924 unpublished. <br /> <br />GAGE.--Water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry in a wooden shelter at a 30 ft Parshall flume. Datum of <br />gage is 6,609 ft. Station is owned and maintained by the Denver Water Dept. Satellite telemetry is <br />maintained by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the USGS. <br /> <br />REMARKS.--The primary record is hourly data taken from satellite monitoring with chart back up. Satellite data <br />agreed with the recorder data within ±0.02 foot. Missing DCP data were filled in using the chart data on <br />4/3/05, 7/16/05, and 9/19-9/20/05. Shaft encoder corrections were applied 9/15/05-10/20/05 and 11/15/05 – <br />12/7/05. The record is reliable and complete. The record is considered good.
