Policy Memorandum 1990-1 Page 2 of 4 <br /> December 11, 2023 <br /> 7. The applicant's claimed date of first beneficial use must be supported in writing on a <br /> form approved by the State Engineer. A field inspection may be required if the well <br /> permit application evaluator determines that such inspection is necessary to complete <br /> the evaluation of the application. <br /> 8. A totalizing flow meter must be installed on the well. Permanent diversion records, <br /> recorded at least annually or more frequently as required by the Division of Water <br /> Resources (DWR), must be maintained by the well owner and submitted to DWR upon <br /> request. <br /> An existing well not meeting the above criteria may be able to obtain a new permit to use the <br /> existing structure pursuant to section 37-92-602(3) or section 37-90-137. See the Beginner's <br /> Guide to Well Permits for additional information. <br /> Approval <br /> This policy may only be modified or revoked in writing by the State Engineer.
