Basinwide Conditions Assessment:
The SWSI value of 1.0 indicates that for June the YAMPA—WHITE RIVER BASINS
basin water supplies were slightly above normal. Flow at the 5Incl.Surface Irt..Supply Incl.N,.tory
gaging station Yampa River at Steamboat averaged 1,578 cfs 4_
as compared to the long term average of 1,802 cfs. 3- i ,
The Steamboat Springs weather observer reports a
total of 3.37 inches of precipitation for the month of June. 2- ; k ; -. ;„■I
This is 220% of average and includes a trace of snow. 1 ,- _. i
Cool wet conditions in the first half of the month g ° ,.1 r ,� ��, �"i
caused stream flows to decrease from the levels seen at the _, , ,
end of Maywhenpeak runoff occurred in the basin. The -, `M=" '' •

second half of the month saw near record temperatures with o 4
little moisture. By the end of the month many streams were -3-
approaching base flow conditions. While storage levels - -

remain high, releases are beginning to be made from some WDATWYEAR
reservoirs to satisfy irrigation demands.
Tributaries of the North Platte River were heavily
administered during June.
