SO=PLATTE BASIN ` August, 1998
i
Basinwide Conditions Assessment:
The SWSI value of 3.0 indicates that for July the basin SOUTH PLATTE RIVER BASIN
water supplies were above normal. Reservoir storage, the s - w.f...rrt.r SYppIy Ind.x HIAWY
major component in this basin in computing the SWSI value, ,_ •
was 98% of normal as of the end of July. MONTWYEAR
The most senior call on the South Platte during the month
was an 1873 Lupton Bottom Ditch call in District 2 on July
22. In general, the calls through out the basin were not as
senior as normal in July.
Widespread rainstorms toward the end of the month SOUTH PLATTE RIVER NR. These rainstorms completely removed the call 2•6
2.4
on the whole main stem the last week of July. It is expected
2.2
the call will return by the second week of August if weather
conditions return to seasonal norms. a ,..•r., 1.8
1.y Outlook
LL
Due to the good natural flow conditions, most of the -
irrigation and municipal reservoirs were still near full or were "
being refilled by the end of the month. Thus, there should -
not be any significant water shortages along the South Platte 0.2
or any of its tributaries this year. ° E
Oct Nov Oec Jan Feb Mrch Aprll Myr June July AUQ Sept
MOUTH
0 WET(190) o ORY Ogee) a AVG X 1268
REPRESENTATIVE RESERVOIRS
SOUTH PLATTE RIVER BASIN
263
240
no
.. .A.,
.! ...0_7
ii, . /N.\
.1 .0_,/,, ,,..
N -_-R 7
I so
0111on Ibr..tooth Eleven Mlle Cluesnen Jackson Baer Lek,
® Avg. 7/E1 Content. ® 7/31/90 Contents
•
