The 1 ;a .
District is beginning to get things rolling regarding theZr, 16
17
conditional storage rights they have been keeping alive since o!
the 1950's & 1960's. These conditional decrees became an is
?4 12
issue in the Union Park trial. They were also strongly 3 io
encouraged70004 4,..........________--
by the local Water Judge and Division Engineer to ! 9
B
do something about these conditional rights or risk their being 7
abandoned by the court. The east slope combatants were s
arguing the intent of trying to keep water in the basin by way 3
Oct Nov Oen Jan Feb March
of these unperfected storage rights. There are approximately MONTH
5 proposed structures conditionally decreed. Some of these ° "E`""" ° ° "a"' ° x 1s99
may be constructed while others may be replaced by enlarging
existing reservoirs.
Public Use Impacts REPRESENTATIVE RESERVOIRS
The Larkspur transmountain diversion, which diverts 7O Gunnison
River Basin
from Tomichi Creek to the Arkansas River, is senior to the 60 //,
above referenced reservoir rights. It is hoped that water
stored under those rights is adequate to accommodate junior i so
decrees so that they will be able to divert without being
Vn
curtailed. ryary-1 40 //-A\
DR
a3
P. 30
N v
_
20
_
Taylor Perk Crawford Fruitland
® Avg.11/90 Contents 17.9 11/90/98 Contents
•
I
