RIO GRANDE BASIN <br /> Basinwide Conditions Assessment: <br /> The SWSI value of 2.1 indicates that for September RIO GRANDE BASIN <br /> Surface water Supply Index Htntory <br /> the basin water supplies were above normal. Storage in 5 <br /> Platoro,Rio Grande, and Santa Maria reservoirs totaled 255% ,_ <br /> of normal as of the end of September. Flow at the gaging <br /> station Rio Grande near Del Norte averaged 598 cfs, as 3 :t a <br /> compared to the 1961-1993 average of 493 cfs. The Conejos ^ _ _ _ <br /> ct <br /> River near Mogote had a mean flow of 162 cfs. The National <br /> Weather Service reports basin precipitation as 107%of normal g D <br /> during the month. Most reservoirs will go into <br /> the winter with above normal storage amounts. The rivers of <br /> the basin are beginning their descent into base flow levels for <br /> the winter.
