The mean daily flow of the South Platte River at the
¢ -2_
Kersey gage was 1,139 cfs, as compared to the 1961-1993
average of 727 cfs. UONTW rEAp
Outlook
Irrigation users curtailed their use in the month of
September as crops began reaching maturity. Except for some
minor applications, irrigation was finished by the end of the SOUTH PLATTE RIVER NR. KERSEY
month. Stream flow conditions continued to be above average 2.8 F`Dw WATER YEAR
for September due to continued return flow and reductions in 2.6
irrigation, resulting in a relativly junior call on the South 2"
2.2
Platte mainstem. The call below the metro area was % 2 - -
completely released on September 12, which is earlier than : 1.8 -
most years. By the end of the month the call above the metro o
Sr_ 1.4 _
area was for municipal storage as is usually the case when > ,.2 _
direct irrigation stops. 1
The free river conditions downstream of Denver has 1 0 8 • u.
0.6
allowed storage and recharge to occur.
