Basinwide Conditions Assessment:
The SWSI value of 1.7 indicates that for December the COLORADO RIVER BASIN

as 100%of normal. Flow at the gaging station Colorado River -

The availability of many household well permits is a 2 i
contingent on a parcel being exempted from the subdivision

requirements. It appears that counties in the basin are getting -4 I 1

stricter in their requirements for approval of these exemptions. MONTW YEAR
Garfield County is proposing to eliminate the exemption
process and make applicants follow the subdivision guidelines.
Pitkin County does not allow exemptions. Gunnision County
reserves the right to require minimum lot size for new parcels.
Mesa County allows a one-time exemption per parcel. Grand COLORADO RIVER NR. DOTSERO
County allows the parent parcel to be split three times, thus sac , FLOW BY WATER YEAR
creating a maximum of four parcels. Summit County reviews 450
minimal exemptions due to the abundance of pre-1972 lots. 40° 1

recommending "... a safe and sustainable long-term water v 350
supply be a pre-requisite for growth.", coupled with the ..2 300
