Basinwide Conditions Assessment:
The SWSI value of 1.0 indicates that for June the YAMPA-WHITE RIVER BASINS
basin water supplies were above normal. Flow at the gaging 5 Surface Water supply Indax Nlatory
station Yampa River at Steamboat averaged 2,430 cfs as ,
compared to the long term average of 1,802 cfs. i-
June's warm temperatures provided good conditions 3 . : -
for fast growing hay crops. Precipitation was below normal 2 ,Y ` ;'-
for the month (1.08 inches in Steamboat Springs, which is Y 1 *w

Mild temperatures and afternoon thunder showers are
normal during the month of July. There should be sufficient
water for irrigating the first hay crop, and to provide late
water for pastures. If favorable weather conditions continue,
some areas may have a second cutting of hay. Runoff YAMPA RIVER AT STEAMBOAT
predictions for the Yampa, White, and North Platte basins 600 FLOW BY WATER YEAR
continue to be above average.
