Storage in Turquoise, °: 71 <br /> Twin Lakes,Pueblo, and John Martin reservoirs totaled 188% 3 T <br /> of normal as of the end of July. 2- -- .7 . <br /> • <br /> 1 11, :f .— <br /> Outlook - ti r� <br /> Dry conditions continue to exist on many tributaries r, <br /> with only the most senior water rights being able to divert. <br /> �_ <br /> On the mainstem of the lower Arkansas native flows are now <br /> being augmented by reservoir storage supplies. Current 3- <br /> releases from storage are 1,700 acre-feet per day from Pueblo 1-- - • <br /> JANB7 JANBB JAN89 JAN90 JAN91 JAN92 JAN93 JAN94 JAN95 JAN96 <br /> Reservoir, and approximately 1,000 acre-feet per day from MONTH/YEAR <br /> John Martin Reservoir. <br /> Administrative/Management Concerns <br /> The administrative process of augmenting ground <br /> water usage is proceeding. Meetings continue to be held in ARKANSAS RIVER NR. PORTLAND <br /> order to coordinate the proper release and crediting of FLOW BY WATER YEAR <br /> augmentation supplies. Augmentation sources generally o 9 • <br /> consist of transmountain first use,transmountain return flows, o <br /> and consumptive use from the drying up formerly irrigated o, <br /> lands. Approximately 1,900 non-exempt wells are being 0 6 <br /> augmented at this time. These wells pumped 7,800 acre-feet <br /> 0.5 <br /> during June. u- <br /> Public Use Impacts ! 03 <br /> The upper Arkansas River currently has native flows 0 2 <br /> ranging from 400 to 500 cfs. Fryingpan-Arkansas Project waters are being <br /> used for the augmentation by release from Twin Lakes <br /> Reservoir and restorage in Pueblo Reservoir.
