The Board and CWWCA anticipate that licensed contractors <br />for professional activities such as serving as directors or officers in CWWCA, NGWA or <br />participation in conferences as speakers may earn continuing education hours. The <br />actual hours of continuing education credit will be determined upon receipt and <br />evaluation of individual conference program. The following is a list of known <br />opportunities to acquire the necessary 8 hours of continuing education between June <br />2004 and January 2006: <br />CWWCA mid -year conference — July 2004 <br />NGWA Convention — December 2004 <br />CWWCA annual conference — January 2005 <br />Mountain States conference — February 2005 <br />CWWCA mid -year conference — July 2005 <br />NGWA Convention — December 2005 <br />POLICY: <br />It is the policy of the Board that a continuing education accreditation committee (CE <br />Committee) be established for the purpose of evaluation of continuing education <br />courses and appropriate hours for each course and professional activity. The CE <br />committee will consist of a designee from CWWCA, member of the Board of Examiners <br />and a Division of Water Resources Board of Examiners staff. The CE committee shall <br />make decisions by consensus. <br />The CE committee shall meet to determine or develop: <br />1) Lists of pre -approved conferences, symposiums, annual meetings and other <br />events that are approved continuing education opportunities; <br />2) Certification requirements and attendance verification requirements for the <br />approved continuing education courses; <br />3) A compliance verification process; <br />4) Information on whether a course on statutes governing the licensed contractors <br />and Board of Examiners, and Board of Examiners Rules, policies, and <br />procedures should be required every two years; <br />5) A process for recommending approval of continuing education hours for post - <br />attendance requests for contractors that attended course training without pre - <br />approval of the continuing education hours <br />The Board hereby delegates to the State Engineer, if timely approval is necessary, the <br />authority to approve continuing education courses consistent with the committee <br />recommendations and the authority of the provisions of Article 91. The State Engineer <br />shall report all approvals at the regularly scheduled board meetings. The Board will <br />retain the authority to make final decisions regarding approval of continuing education <br />courses. <br />2 <br />
