POLICY: <br />To incorporate the pump installation categories adopted by the NGWA in its examination program and <br />by the Board of Examiners in its Rules, and to facilitate equity among contractors in the pump <br />installation industry, the Board hereby adopts the following policy. <br />License Renewal - Renewal of licenses issued on the basis of pump horse -power rating will be <br />accomplished according to the following conversion to the currently used production rate <br />(gpm) categories: <br />Licenses that reflect a limitation that only pumps with motors less than or equal to 5 horse- <br />power will be renewed to indicate that only pumps producing less than or equal to 100 gpm are <br />authorized under the license. <br />Licenses authorizing the installation of pumps with motors greater than 5 horse -power but less <br />than or equal to 20 horse -power and/or licenses to install pumps with motors greater that 20 <br />horse -power (including vertical turbine pumps) will be renewed to indicate that only pumps <br />producing more than 100 gpm are authorized under the license. <br />Renewal of Existing License <br />A licensee who wishes to change to a category based on a production rate not specified on the <br />renewed license must successfully complete the applicable NGWA examinations for that <br />category and all other requirements established by law and in accordance with the Board's <br />procedures for obtaining a license for a different type of pump installation. <br />The effective date of this policy is October 2, 2001. <br />Dated this ,) XC/ day of October, 2001. <br />Janet Bellis, Chair <br />Board of Examiners of Water Well Construction <br />and Pump Installation Contractors <br />
