The average annual water level change compared to the base year of 1988 over the past nine <br />years has averaged - 1.11 ft/yr in the floodplains and - 1.69 ft/yr in the tributary valleys. <br />Water level rises over the past nine years averaged 1.32 ft/yr (about 1 out of 3 records <br />showing a rise) in the floodplain, and 3.37 ft/yr in the tributary valleys (about 1 in 4 exhibiting <br />a rise) . Both the tributary valleys and the South Platte floodplain experienced more annual rise <br />overall in 1997 than in 1996. Annual declines in the tributary valleys and the South Platte <br />floodplain overall were greater in 1997 than 1996. <br />The reader is advised that these data are based upon the measurements of only 63 wells. <br />This represents only 2 to 4 percent of the total nonexempt wells along the South Platte <br />system between Kassler and the Colorado -Nebraska state line. <br />7250.cgr - 3 - <br />
