K14WA-BtJ�U DESIGIVATED GROUNDWATER BASIN <br />May 2UQ3 <br />This report represents water level measurement data for the North Kiowa-Bijou Ground <br />Water Management District for the 2��3 season. The project was done in cooperativn with the <br />Management District and with local wel! owners. Funding for the project is supplied in part from <br />well permit fees cvllected and managed by the Dffice of the State Engineer as a cash fund <br />designated fvr use in obtaining ground water information throughout the state. <br />A total of 35 wells were measured during the month of February 2�03. These wells are all <br />part of #he observation well network that has been measured for many years. Records vn at least <br />one well date back to 193fi. However, most of the wells date from the 1950's and 196�"s. Water <br />le�ei changes for 35 wells measured between 20D2 and 2003 range from a decline of 4.87 feet to <br />a rise of U.94 feet. The average change for the 2UQ2 to 20D3 period is a decline of 1.26 feet <br />compared to a decfine of Q.55 foot befween 2Q41 and 20�2. For the last fi�e years, the a�erage <br />dectine in the basin has been 0.65 feet per year. The a�erage decline fvr the last 10 years has <br />been a decline of �.56 feet. The northem half of the basin exhibits declining water le�els with the <br />greatest declines being in the most northerly portion of the basin. <br />Included in this report are water le�el data and hydrographs for all wells currently in the <br />monitoring network. Information conceming bedrock welis for the Den�er Basin Aquifers will be <br />available in June ot this year and can be obtained from the Offce of the State Engineer. <br />Copies of this report are being made available to afl well owners whose wells were <br />measured as part of this project.
