Additionally, a
seed mix has been found, with the help of the CSU Extension Service, which will grow
and survive on the topsoil stockpiles. Following is the plan:
1. Fertilization — the topsoil stockpiles will be fertilized with a broadcast application
of nitrogen at the rate of 60 pounds per acre. The nitrogen will be applied prior to
planting.
2. Seed Mix - a seed mix consisting of crested wheat grass or Siberian wheat grass
and alfalfa will be planted. The seed mixture will be 92% wheat grass and 8%
alfalfa. Thirteen pounds of seed per acre will be planted.
3. Planting - sowing will be done in late fall or early winter. This will increase the
opportunity for successful establishment of the plant species.
The initial result of these efforts will be known by late spring of 2014.
Respectfully,
Parkerson Construction, Inc.
Roy' e Clement
General Manager
