Box 130 <br />San Luis, CO 81152 <br />Ph.: (719) 672 -9109 <br />Fax: (719) 672 -3003 <br />mathew. valdez @costillacounty -co. goi <br />www.costillacounty-co.gov <br />RE: Notice of Temporary Cessation for Costilla County Pit 1 File No. M- 1977 -044 <br />Dear Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, <br />Costilla County is filing a Notice of Temporary Cessation for Costilla County Pit 1 <br />No. M- 1977 -044. <br />Revision Fee <br />Attached is Costilla County Check No. 8626 in the amount of $144.00. <br />Initial Five -Year Period of TC <br />The five -year period for Temporary Cessation will begin on July 1, 2013. <br />Reason for Non - Production <br />The Costilla County has not had any minerals extracted from the Costilla County Pit 1 for <br />over 8 years due to lack of construction material in the pit. Over 95% of Costilla Pit 1 has <br />been mined. Currently there are stockpiles of topsoil in preparation for reclamation. The <br />County has not begun the reclamation process. <br />Resumption of Mining <br />Costilla County has not made any plans to continue mining in the Pit. The Costilla County <br />Road & Bridge is using the floor of the pit for storage of topsoil and the other portions of the <br />area are being used as storage for old asphalt. <br />Rule 3.1 Reclamation Requirements <br />1. Pursuant to Exhibit E Reclamation Plan for County Pit 1 File No. M- 1977 -044 as <br />described as follows: <br />a.
