Hickenlooper
Governor
Mike King
Executive Director
Loretta E. Pineda
Director
Colowyo Coal Company L.P. has applied for a bond release at the Colowyo Coal Mine. The
bond release application was found complete by this Division on May 14, 2013. SL -07 is a
Phase I Bond Release application encompassing 137.4 acres in West Pit, East Pit, and South
Taylor areas. The surface ownership is Federal, state and private; the coal mined was Federal.
The Division's required bond release inspection of the site will be May 21, 2013 at 1 pm. I have
discussed this inspection with Christine Belka in your office, and she indicated that OSM
representatives are not available on this date. However, Christine also indicated that it would be
acceptable if we conducted the inspection without OSM staff in attendance. A proposed decision
on the application will be issued within 60 days of our inspection.
If you have questions or need additional information, please contact me.
Sincerely,
Robert D.
