E. STOVER & ASSOCIATES, INC.
2352 NORTH 7 STREEET, UNIT B
GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO 81501
PHONE: (970) 245 -4101, FAX 242 -7908
CIVIL ENGINEERING
CONST. MANAGEMENT
RECEIVED
APR u 2 2013
Division of Keclamation,
Mining and Safety
Bowie recently had some discouraging news from the drilling contractor scheduled to
drill the recently permitted B13 Bleeder Vent. The drilling contractor consulted with
several engineers regarding the details of the proposed drill plan and it was determined
that the hole could not be completed with the driller's existing equipment. This has
forced Bowie to change direction in order to provide some relief from the marginal
ventilation conditions.
Bowie will abandon the plan to drill the B13 Bleeder Vent and instead drill an additional
gob vent hole between the existing B13C and B13D GVBs. The new GVB will be
labeled B13C -1 and its location is shown on Map 9. Approximately 650 feet of new
road will be required. The pad for the B13 bleeder Vent was constructed but the
bleeder hole was not installed.
On behalf of Bowie Resources, LLC, (BRL), enclosed is an application for a minor
revision to allow the installation of the new gob vent hole, associated drill pad and new
road.
Right of Entry
The area where the gob vent hole will be installed is located on surface owned by BRL.
Affected and Disturbed Area
The disturbed area will increase by 1.4 acres. There will be no change to the affected
area.
Cultural Resources
Appropriate cultural resource surveys have been conducted and are included in the
permit in Volume VI.
