ly
To whom this may concern:
✓ ✓
,9 Z- m- z o d 9 o o f
As adjoining land owners to the Turnpike Mining Resources, we are strongly opposed to the proposal of
extending the time to deal with the shale piles until 2022! We feel that this is a huge eyesore to our
neighborhood. It is laughable that they plan to mitigate erosion with plants on a shale pile that will not
support plant life without topsoil. The proposal also states that the mitigation process would begin July
2012, and there has been no visible progress. Asphalt Specialties has proven time and time again that
they are poor neighbors and have not carried out any of the proposals that they have specified. We urge
you, Weld County Commissioners, to come take a look and get back with us as soon as possible. Thank
you for your concern.
— Ken and Christi Neuens
354 CR 16 1/2
Longmont,Co. 80504
RECEIVED
SEP122012
Division of Reclamation,
Mining & safety
