The dimensions and construction of ditches are listed on Tables at
right, along with the armoring requirements (3" Riprap, 6" Riprap or
vegetated channels). The freeboard includes a minimum of 6- inches
at the 100 year calculated discharge plus the velocity head depth.
2. EMP Ponds and their embankments are intended to be water tight
because of their proximity to high walls of the mining areas.
Accordingly, they shat/ be constructed to conform to the following
general specifications:
a. Strip the footprint of the pond area down to suitable non - organic
soils with no less than 15-20% fines ( <200 mesh). Proof roll the
footprint and compact as needed to achieve a target density of no less
than 90% in the basin and no less than 95% Std Proctor in the
embankmant.
b. Select soils for the embankment that have at least 15% fines.
Place and compact the embankment soils in 8 -inch maximum loose
layers and compact to at least 95% Std. Proctor density.
c. Maximum slope of embankment shall be 2 :1. Maximum slope
inside sediment basin shall be 1.75.1. Maximum slope of reseeded
areas shall be 3:1.
3. An emergency spillway shall be constructed at each pond with a
finished invert elevation approximately 2.0 feet lower than the crest
and a base width of 6.0 feet. The spillway shall be armored with 6"
angular nprap place on 6- inches of sandy- gravel bedding and a layer
of Mirifi drain fabric.
I
I
 II
I / 6 Low -level
Diaia and Riprap
.Spilhway
0
s'6, 1 /
10 1
rn
I
Temporary--
ti o rn o o
;
Basm
rn co
r:
DA7 U1VL FLF
_ m _ _
WHEX -D
cD N co ai cfl
-_ tr N
-i
0 0
- 9950.00 O O O
Basin
I
', WHEX -i
EMP -010
Tea
E«
g
h1 b
CIO b'
o
MIN
CS
i
r
1
Total Earthwork
Balanced d Cut/Fill -3,000 CY
North Interceptor at
Toe ofECOSA
South Interceptor
at Toe ofECOSA embankment
EMP -020
Plan View
1 "=50'(D-Size Dwg)
Grassy Valley Storm Water Management Area Transfer Pumps - 18
Wild Horse Extension (WHEX) and ECOSA gpm Solar z One cis
Basin Basin Mobile @ 100 ft TDH
IHEX - -A WHEX -B Vindicator
Basin
VINAI Basin
EMP -018 T
5.7AF
3.9 AF Basin
' ------ - - - - -- WHEX-.
toe Basin
Pond ECOSA-A1
_..
Perforated
Weep Pipe
Dram --
Clay Basin
Area ECOSA-Bl
Basin 1
ECOSA-Cl
''BMMMOMn •MME EMP -013 Spillway
■ 111, 1.8 AF
■
Spillway
EMP -019 ■ After WHEX
9.9 AF ■ / Backfill, Grassy
■ / Valley is Restored
■ Highway Basins
Perforated ■ Flow Direct to
V Weep Pipe 0 Grassy Creek
MP -016 Drain ■ w/o Detention
5.2AF - `- Basin
0 ECOSA-E1
■
■
■ EMP 020
Spillway ■
:EC asin ■ OAF
way SA-D1
■ J l
I A1
O Upper Grassy Valley Storm Water Management Area
10
i
EadstingEMP -016
Verify Capacity at
` l9 5.2 Acre feet,
 1
Existing
O
Riprap Lmed
Channel `
from EMP 10 \ 1
Construct Perforated Riser oo
Spillway - 670 Pipe with `
6 ea. 1' O Perf. @ 2" Centers -'
EC
Channel from NW Toe
ofECOSAStockpile
Existing EMP -016
3 Plan View
1 " =50' (D -Size Dwg)
i
1024 10200 t
10160 Natur.
10120 Slope
10080
10040
WHEX Mine Area Backflll
Cut through
Ridge
Natural Slope
100K ca
ti o rn o o
r o rn
 co r- N rn
rn co
r:
DA7 U1VL FLF
_ m _ _
- % tri
rn
cD N co ai cfl
-_ tr N
-i
0 0
- 9950.00 O O O
A c
O O O O Cl) O O
N X,
O O O
`" ti o 0 0 0
o O O O O O
O O
6'S
6
10204.0
7
EMP -10
0 +00 5 +00 10 +00 15 +00 20 +00 25 +00
30 +00 35 +00 40 +00
45 +00
7 PROFILE B, SHEET
3- Reconstructed Stream
Corridor Across
WHEX after Backfill
9
Profile View
10
.375
1.72
9.9
1" =500 ft (DSize)
6..0
10055.0
11
EMP -16
Total Earthwork
Balanced Cut/Fill- 16,000CY -6"0 Riser Pipe
Pond Capacity 9Acre Feet 15' 6 ea. 1 "0 Holes at
12" Vertical Centers
(nom
p -Crest Area (Ac) 2 ft.
