Hickeniooper
Governor
Mike King
Executive Director
Loretta Pineda
Director
The Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety has received your second 60 day extension request letter
regarding the submittal of a Technical Revision, to address water on an adjacent neighbor's property
from your operation. In your letter you indicated the fact that the Denver Water who also owns an
adjacent property wants additional in puts on the proposed design. Be that as it may, the sub drain must
be in place before the end of spring. With that in mind, the Division encourages Aggregate Industries to
submit the revision and complete the task before the rainy season beings.
This will be the last extension that will be granted for the submittal of the Technical Revision. If the
Technical Revision is not submitted by May 3, 2012, we have no choice but to send a Reason to Believe
a Violation Exists letter and bring the matter before the Mined Land Reclamation Board for final
resolution.
If you have questions, please contact me at (303) 866- 3567 ext 8129.
Sincerely,
Berhan Keffelew
Environmental Protection Specialist.
CC: Tom Kaldenbach
Office of
Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver - Grand Junction - Durango Active and Inactive Mines
