Lupton Sand and Gravel Mine, Permit No. M- 1999 -120, Revision SR -2
Dear Ms. Shults:
On February 6, 2012 the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety conducted an inspection of the Hill /Oakley and
eastern Ft Lupton Phases of the Ft. Lupton Sand and Gravel site operated by LG Everist. This inspection was
conducted as a result of surety reduction request SR2. The surety reduction request was submitted to the Division on
December 27, 2011 based on the approval of the Hill/Oakley slurry wall by the State Engineer's Office, as well as the
completion of all earth work associated with the Hill/Oakley Phase and eastern part of the Ft Lupton Phase by LG
Everist. The bond associated with the slurry wall for the Ft Lupton Phase of the site has already been released by the
Division.
The Division concluded from the inspection that the earthwork for the Hill/Oakley and eastern portion of the Ft
Lupton Phases of the site has been completed according to the approved reclamation plan. However, as a result of
further discussions with LG Everist, it has been determined that it would be more appropriate to make the adjustments
to the required reclamation bond amount in conjunction with the review of an upcoming amendment application for
this site. Therefore, LG Everist has withdrawn SR2 and no bond adjustment will be made at this time.
If you have any questions, please contact me.
Sincerely, ijaiF
Eric C.
