Everist requests a Surety Reduction for completed reclamation work in the Hill- Oakley and Fort
Lupton East phases of the Fort Lupton Sand and Gravel Mine, # M- 1999 -120.
Hill- Oakley Phase
L.G. Everist would like a bond reduction on the reclamation work that has been completed in the Hill -
Oakley phase thus far: the slurry wall liner has been approved by the SEO, and all backfilling, grading,
and sloping have also been completed in the phase. Copies of two liner approval letters from the SEO
are attached - the liner was approved as meeting the SEO's "performance" standard in August -2011, and
then the liner was approved again as meeting the SEO's stricter "design" standard in December -2011.
Fort Lupton East Phase
In February-2006, the Division reduced the bond on the Fort Lupton Sand and Gravel Mine to account for
SEO- approved slurry wall around the Fort Lupton pit (Fort Lupton East and West phases). A copy of the
Division's Financial Warranty Reduction Approval letter and a copy of the SEO's October -2004 liner
approval letter are attached for ease of reference. Therefore, L.G. Everist is just requesting a bond
reduction on additional reclamation work that has been completed in the Fort Lupton East phase,
including all the backfilling, grading, and sloping of the phase.
The backfilling, grading and sloping in both phases have been constructed as per our reclamation plan
and finished with resulting slopes at a minimum of 3:1. We will continue to work toward complete
reclamation of both phases with initial seeding of the phases in the spring. A copy of the Reclamation
Map submitted with Technical Revision 06 (request letter dated December 8, 2011) is attached for a
visual reference to the two phases
We look forward to scheduling a site inspection with the Division in January-2012.
