Box 773598 Steamboat Springs, CO 80477 Re: Proposed Decision Permit Renewal Application No. 6 (RN -6) Edna Strip Mine (Permit No. C- 1980 -001) Dear Routt County Commissioners: This letter is to inform you that the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety is proposing to Approve a renewal application for a coal mining and reclamation permit. The application was submitted by Chevron Mining, Inc. on May 12, 2011, for the Edna Strip Mine. Any person with an interest which may be adversely affected by the proposed decision may request a formal hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board within 30 days of the first publication of this notice by the Division in the Steamboat Pilot. The Surface mine is located approximately 5 miles Northwest of Oak Creek, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows: T5N, R85W, Portions of Sections 31, 32 T5N, R86W, Portions of Section 36 T4N, R86W, Portions of Sections 12, 13, 14, 23, 24, 25 T4N, R85W, Portions of Sections 7, 8, 17, 18, 19, 29, 30 Copies of the renewal application are available for public review in the Division offices at the above address and at the Routt County Clerk and Recorder.
