Box 440
Rapid City, SD 57709 -0440
Re: St. Barbara Sand and Gravel Mine, Permit No. M- 2004 -013, Technical Revision Approval, Revision No.
TR -1
Dear Mr. Brannan:
On December 5, 2011 the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety approved the Technical Revision application
submitted to the Division on December 5, 2011, addressing the following:
Submittal — Intermittent Operation.
The terms of the Technical Revision No. 1 approved by the Division are hereby incorporated into Permit No. M- 2004 -013.
All other conditions and requirements of Permit No. M- 2004 -013 remain in full force and effect.
The Division notes the operator plans to reactivate mining operations in 2013. The Division will require notification when
your operation exceeds 180 days per year.
Your request for intermittent status indicates a potential change in the mine plan from dry extraction (as in the current
permit) to either dragline excavation or suction dredge. If you do indeed change the extraction methods, a revision to the
permit will be required.
If you have any questions, contact me at 303 - 866 -3567 x8169.
Sincerely,
Office of
Mined Land Reclamation
Tim thy A.
