The area known as the East Dump has in the past been
improved by grading,pH amendment, addition of topsoil and compost, and reseeding. Since these
improvements,a small area on the southwest facing side has developed a slow seeping area. Although the
volume of water isn't adequate enough to pose an erosion concern, the nature of the water is such that the
revegetation has been damaged.
Please find enclosed with this letter a design of our intended repairs. We are tentatively scheduling these
improvements for the fall of 2001 or the summer of 2002 as time allows. If you have any questions
regarding this matter, please call me at your convenience at(719)486-2150 Ext.755.
Sincerely,
- - Lisa Berry
Environmental Technician
Climax Mine
