Watterson <br />Twentymile Coal Company <br />29515 Routt County Road #27 <br />Oak Creek, CO 80467 <br />RE: Twentymile Coal Company, Permit C -82 -056 <br />Second Quarter Sediment Pond Inspection Report 2011 <br />Dear Mr. Watterson, <br />The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (CDRMS) has reviewed and found the <br />above referenced report to be in compliance with the following CDRMS regulation: <br />4.05.9(17) — Examined at least quarterly by a qualified person designated by the operator, for <br />appearance of structural weakness and other hazardous conditions. <br />4.05.9(17) — A copy of the report shall be submitted to the Division on a quarterly basis. <br />The second quarter sediment pond inspection reports were received by the Division on 11 July 2011. <br />Sediment pond inspections were conducted by TCC during the fourth week of June 2011. <br />It is noted that maintenance items required include; clearing cattails at Pond B and Pond T; dredge the <br />south cell of Pond B; clear grass around the weir of Pond E and in the drainage ditch of Pond F; weed <br />spraying of pond embankments of the Waste Water Treatment Pond #1 and #3; repair of minor rills <br />and gullies were observed on the embankments of 18 LT Pond 1 and Pond 2. <br />Maintenance items addressed this quarter include; concrete of the flume of Pond D to correct short <br />circuit; clearing of Area #1 Pit flume; stabilization of 6MN drainage channel. <br />The Area #1 Pit, Waste Water Treatment Pond #1, #2, #3, final polishing pond, Pond D, and the Fish <br />Creek Tipple Pond were discharging at the time of the inspections. <br />If you have any questions feel free to contact me.
