- 00 <br />• GleaF Gneek County <br />POST OMGE BOX 2000 <br />GEORGETOWN, GOLORADO 80444 <br />TELEPHONE: (303) 569-3251 • (303) 679-2300 <br /> <br />June 9, 2011 <br />Mr. Jared Ebert Environmental Protection Specialist <br />Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety <br />1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 <br />Denver, CO 80203 <br />RE: Notice of Intent to Prospect, File Number P-2011-013 <br />Dear Mr. Ebert: <br />RECF-1* ` <br />PON 13 2011 <br />/Divisiorr, ot Reclamation, <br />Mining and Safety <br />Clear Creek County appreciates the opportunity to rev, ie tthe documents provided by <br />Spring Gulch Mining Company regarding activity on South Spring Gulch Road. <br />We will be relying on the expertise of the Division's staff to assure that appropriate <br />practices are implemented in accordance with Colorado mining law and for the protection <br />of air and water resources, so the County is focusing its comments on matters of <br />importance to our local government. <br />If any excavation on the property will not be related to mining activity, we are requesting <br />that Mr. Winters meet with our Site Development Department to review that work and to <br />determine if any county permits will be required. <br />We also noted that Mr. Winters will be using and storing nitric and hydrochloric acids, so <br />we are requesting that he contact the Clear Creek Office of Emergency Management <br />{OEM) because they serve as staff for the Local Emergency Planning Committee. The <br />Committee keeps the Tier Two forms regarding chemicals that are used and/or stored in <br />Clear Creek County, and shares the information with appropriate emergency response <br />agencies. OEM can review with Mr.Winters the reporting threshold requirements. <br />Finally, we are requesting that Mr. Winters contact the Clear Creek County Building <br />"Honoring Our Past, While Designing Our Future"
