OXBOW MINING, LLC
3737 Hwy 133 P.O. Box 535 Somerset, Colorado 81434 USA Tel (970)929-5122 Fax
(970)929-5177
May 6, 2011
RECEIVED
Mr. Mike Boulay MAY 0 9 2011
Environmental Protection Specialist
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety Division of rt®d3n"a6lIn
101 South P, Suite 301 Mining and Sagely
Grand Junction, CO. 81501
Re: Oxbow Mining LLC, Permit No. C-1981-022, Request for MR-96 - Two Additional Angle
Boreholes Panel LW-16.
Dear Mr. Boulay,
Oxbow Mining, LLC requests a Minor Revision No. 96 to Permit C-1981-022. The purpose of the MR is to
provide for an additional two (2) angle boreholes. One additional angle borehole is to be located at each of
two (2) approved and in place gob vent borehole (GVB) vertical borehole sites. These in place borehole sites
are located on lands managed by the USES.
Proposed boreholes: Panel 16: 16-07D and 16-08B.
Due to ground control issues, MSHA required Oxbow to conduct a mid-panel long wall move. As a result,
two of the in place GVB's 16-07 and 16-07B were bypassed and rendered non-effective to vent methane.
Because these two existing boreholes are not able to function as designed, the handling of mine methane
entering the post move mining areas has become more of a problem. These two proposed boreholes should
help to provide relief for the problem.
We are also including an updated Exhibit 2.04-E3, Geologic Information, Item 9 - Methane Drainage Well
Information and an updated Map 2.05-M1, Sheet 6 of 6, General Facilities Gobvent Boreholes (submitted
later under separate cover).
Please contact me at (970) 929-5806 should you have questions or require further information.
Sincerely,
J es A.
