There <br />would be no new disturbance, and burying the cuttings on site would reduce local road truck <br />traffic and other impacts. <br />We would dig a trench about eight feet deep to rock, parallel to and near the northern end of the <br />TM Pad. The trench would be about ten feet wide and about 200 feet long to accommodate the <br />drill cuttings we will generate. We would pile most of the excavated material on the north side <br />of the trench next to, but separate from, the wind-row of topsoil. We would use some of the <br />excavated material to make a short berm around the ends and south side of the trench for safety <br />purposes. <br />The cuttings would be dewatered as much as feasible before being put into the trench. The <br />cuttings would then be covered with at least two feet of the material removed from the trench <br />(we would keep the level of cuttings two feet below grade). The cuttings, the two feet of fill, and <br />the topsoil replaced for reclamation would provide an adequate root zone for plant growth. The <br />remainder of the material removed from the trench would be evenly distributed over the pad <br />during final reclamation. <br />We sampled the drill cuttings from different depths of our previously drilled core hole and had <br />those drill cuttings analyzed following the procedure established by Rio Blanco County. The list <br />of analyses is enclosed. The analyses showed the cuttings pose no environmental concern, and <br />the approval we received from Rio Blanco County to dispose the cuttings in their landfill is <br />enclosed. <br />Sincerely, <br />/?`, -4 <br />Roger L.
