In accordance with Rule 1.13.5(2), the following information is being provided to <br />the division. <br />a. Date of Cessation -Activity last occurred on the property in January, 2010. We <br />request that the cessation go on from that date until January, 2015. <br />b. The reasons for nonproduction or cessation of mining operations - Lafarge idled <br />operations at this site due to lowered market demand in the area. The new <br />construction market has slowed reducing the need for materials in areas serviced <br />by this site. <br />c. A plan for resumption of mining -Mining at this site would resume if market <br />conditions improve. Lafarge would reestablish the processing plant and begin <br />operations again. There is no date planned for the resumption of operations but <br />Lafarge will notify the DRMS if operations are planned to resume. <br />d. Measures to be taken to comply with reclamation requirements and/or other <br />activities related to the performance standards of section 3.1 of the Construction <br />Materials Rules while the mine is in Temporary Cessation.- During the <br />Temporary Cessation, Lafarge will continue to implement the weed control <br />program submitted to the DRMS. The site will be inspected periodically by <br />Lafarge to prevent accumulation of non-mining materials. Lafarge does not <br />anticipate other reclamation activities to be required during the temporary <br />cessation <br />e. Demonstration that the existing Financial Warranty is adequate to cover the <br />reclamation liability - An updated bond was submitted to the DRMS in June, <br />2009. This bond considered all currently disturbed areas and no further mining <br />has occurred since this bond recalculation.
