"F? 2 201,
RE: Ashbaugh Gravel Pit, File No. M-2005-060 } D'v+sfor? jb (%eQ&Irlation,
Operator: Weld County Public Works Mining and Safety
Contact: David Bauer, 970-304-6496
Section 15, Twp 7 North, Rng 59 West, P.M., Weld County
CONDITIONS FOR APPROVAL
® The application is submitted for a conversion from an existing 110 gravel pit containing 10 acres to a 112
gravel pit, which would contain 139.7 acres. The proposed operation as indicated in the original 110
permit does not anticipate exposing groundwater. Therefore, exposure of ground water must not occur
during or after mining operations.
® The applicant has identified that water used for dust control for this operation can be obtained and
hauled from the Weld County-owned wells at other gravel pits. The applicant will need to ensure the
water used for dust control by the gravel operation at the Ashbaugh Pit is included in the substitute water
supply plan ("SWSP") approved for the other gravel pits.
COMMENTS: If stormwater runoff is intercepted by this operation and is not diverted or captured in priority, it
must be released to the stream system within 72 hours. This may require a discharge permit from CDPHE-
WQCD. Otherwise, the operator will need to make replacements for evaporation.
The applicant may contact the State Engineer's Office with any questions.
4
Office of the State Engine)
1313 Sherman Street, Suite 818 • Denver, CO 80203 • Phone: 303-866-3581 • Fax: 303-866-3589
http://water.state.co.uS
