OXBOW MINING, LLC
3737 Hwy 133 P.O. Box 535 Somerset, Colorado 81434 USA Tel (970)929-5122 Fax
February 10, 2011 (970)929-5177 RECEIVED
Mr. Mike Boulay FEB 14 2011
Environmental Protection Specialist Division u3 iw,amation,
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety Mining and Safety
101 South P, Suite 301
Grand Junction, CO. 81501
Re: Oxbow Minina LLC Permit No C-1981-022 Request for MR 95 Sixteen Angle Boreholes
Panels LW-17 and LW-18.
Dear Mr. Boulay,
Oxbow Mining, LLC requests a Minor Revision No. 95 to Permit C-1981-022. The purpose of the MR is to
provide for an additional sixteen (16) angle boreholes. Two angle boreholes are to be located at each of eight
(8) approved gob vent borehole (gvb) vertical borehole sites. The angle boreholes are referred to as the "B"
and "C" boreholes at the presently approved vertical borehole sites.
Panel 17: 17-02B, 17-02C, 17-0513, 17-05C, 17-0613, 17-06C, 17-0813, 17-08C.
Panel 18: 18-0213, 18-02C, 18-0413, 18-04C, 18-06B, 18-06C, 18-0913, 18-09C.
Oxbow's recent mining activities have entered areas with increasing overburden depth, and therefore,
increased methane gas. Recent angle boreholes installed at approved vertical borehole pad sites have been
successful in enhancing the drainage of methane. The purpose of the additional boreholes are to enhance the
drainage of methane by 1) attempting to intercept NE/SW trending linear joint or fracture features in the
overburden and 2) simply close the present spacing of boreholes.
We are also including an updated Exhibit 2.04-E3, Geologic Information, Item 9 - Methane Drainage Well
Information and an updated Map 2.05-M1, Sheet 6 of 6, General Facilities Gobvent Boreholes.
Please contact me at (970) 929-5806 should you have questions or require further information.
Sincerely,
Ja es A.
